A judgment-free, self-guided journey to workplace equality and inclusion

Self-Guide to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) by Su Joun is a clear, simple, powerful reflection tool designed to help readers better understand their own workplace experiences and how they differ from others.
With decades of experience in management in multiple industries, human resources, and DEI consulting, Su Joun has listened to thousands of people share what inequity and equity looks and feels like on the ground. This guide offers that insight via digestible prompts and questions that encourage self-awareness, empathy, and practical action.
Inside, through a guided dialogue, readers will learn:
Being only 64 pages, this book is perfect for individual growth, team discussions, or leadership development, this guide doesn’t require prior DEI knowledge. It just requires an honest willingness to reflect and learn. Whether you’re leading a team or rethinking your own career journey, or want to be a good co-worker, this book is your accessible starting point.

Here’s how the book has helped others stay inspired, finish what they started, and grow their craft with intention.
This should be required reading for managers and those seeking growth in their careers. Most people want to do what’s equitable and inclusive, yet the defunding of many employer DEI programs has left so many workers unable to advance their understanding and grow their skills. This interactive workbook offers a thoughtful “self-study” guide and practical resource to expand your inclusivity toolkit, which is essential in modern leadership, whether you manage people, projects or programs.
This workbook style book is an awesome tool for any individual or leader seeking to understand the barriers and dynamics preventing fairness in the workplace. All of the questions, quotes, and anecdotes are relatable. The book also provides great “small actions for big impact” that people can use to change their own daily behaviours and inspire change in others.
Prepare yourself for an interactive guide that shed lights on the words and behaviours that impact an individual’s ability to bring their best work and the actions that can help build a resilient workplace centered in leveraging difference. It is especially helpful in helping you understand how everyone’s lived experience informs how they show up at work. A great team building tool that can be used over a series of meetings.
I am really finding it quite useful and in my opinion should be part of HR training in all corporates.

Equip new hires, human resources (HR) folks, team leaders, and culture keepers with a meaningful introduction to diversity, equity, and inclusion from day one. Integrate the guide into onboarding programs to help employees build a strong foundation for their DEI journey and understand their role in creating inclusive workplace cultures.
Bring teams together through shared learning. Use the book as a powerful pre-read for facilitated talk circles, team or employee resource groups (ERGs) discussions, and leadership conversations that deepen understanding and foster connections.

A new professional development book on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) provides practical strategies for building inclusive workplaces and strengthening leadership effectiveness. The guide helps professionals, managers, and HR leaders implement DEI principles to improve workplace culture, employee engagement, and organizational growth.
Boston, MA, March 30, 2026 –(PR.com)– D@W Publishing today announced the release of Self-Guide to DEI: Understanding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Workplace, a new book designed to help individuals better understand and navigate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in their everyday work environments.
As conversations around DEI continue across corporate America and higher education, much of the focus has been on organizational strategies and policies. With this release, D@W Publishing brings a different perspective to the forefront—one that centers on the individual’s role in creating more inclusive workplaces.
Using simple prompts instead of complicated theories or concepts, the book guides readers through their own workplace experiences and how those experiences may differ from others. It gently meets readers where they are and, without judgment, helps them better understand workplace dynamics and how to contribute to more inclusive, comfortable, and successful environments.
“While the book is only 64 pages, it took two years to write. It is meant to be a conversation between the reader and myself,” says author Su Joun. “It seeks to de-mystify and simplify the topic of equity, equality, inclusion, psychological safety, belonging, and diversity for one person at a time. After all, DEI is personal, not political. It is about people, not politics.”
Published by D@W Publishing, the book reflects the company’s commitment to creating accessible, practical resources that support individuals and organizations in building more inclusive workplace cultures.
Su Joun drew on decades of senior leadership experience across various industries and consulting work with hundreds of organizations to develop the book. Self-Guide to DEI brings together real voices and experiences from thousands of professionals, offering readers a personal and authentic way to explore identity, empathy, and everyday actions that can make work more fair and inclusive.
Early feedback for the book includes:
